In Malaysia, a land of vibrant flavors and bountiful harvests, 5.2 million Malaysians face hunger. Every day, children sleep on empty stomachs, families skip meals, and the shadow of food insecurity looms large.
But amidst this reality, another tragedy unfolds: 17% of our food goes to waste – perfectly edible meals tossed because of blemishes, past sell-by dates, or mere overproduction. It’s a heartbreaking irony, a symphony of suffering played out against a backdrop of abundance.
Food Bank Malaysia is registered with The Registry of Societies of Malaysia as a non-profit that rescues edible surplus food and delivers it to those in need. From manufacturers to families, we bridge the gap between waste and nourishment, empowering communities and reducing food insecurity. We gather discarded but worthy food, bridge the gap between excess and need, and nourish a nation where no child or individual should go hungry.
Network of organisation and business that champions a zero waste community and feed the hungry.
Business, community and organisation that help reduce waste, feed people and educate about nutrition.
