Community & CSR Projects

We are committed to ending hunger in Malaysia. Our mission is to provide nutritious food to those in need, while also working to address the root causes of hunger. We believe that everyone deserves to have access to healthy food, and we are committed to making that a reality.

Cafe Makan Percuma

"Cafe Makan Percuma" or called Free Food Cafe provide free cooked food to the general public, especially the poor and underprivileged. The food is prepared using surplus food from restaurants and supermarkets, as well as donations from our partners and the public. Held thrice a week on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at Food Bank headquarter located in Alor Setar, Kedah gladly serve a community of average 200 pax weekly.

FBM Food Aid Basket

Food Bank Malaysia's food aid baskets are more than just groceries; they're a lifeline for families and individuals struggling to put food on the table. Imagine the immense relief of receiving a sturdy box packed with essentials like rice, cooking oil, canned goods, and protein sources. For many Malaysians, this is the difference between an empty stomach and a nourishing meal, between anxiety and a flicker of hope.

Food Surplus Rescue

We collect this soon-to-be-wasted bounty from manufacturers, wholesaler, farms and retailers. Instead of rotting in piles, fresh produce, packaged goods, and dairy products gain a new lease on life. Food Bank Malaysia meticulously sorts, repackages, and distributes these treasures to the hands of those who need them the most underprivileged families, community centre, and food aid organisations.

FBM Free Market

Community Free Markets is an vibrant open-air spaces buzzing with energy, stocked with fresh produce, pantry staples, and household essentials – all for free. These markets aren't handouts, they're empowering hubs where families facing food insecurity can choose the groceries they need, building dignity and independence alongside their meals.

Feed the Homeless

Dedicated volunteers navigating bustling streets, laden with with hot, nourishing meals using the surplus food and donation from the public for hungry and the homeless. They seek not just to fill empty stomachs, but to restore dignity and foster human connection. Each steaming plate, each friendly smile, represents a promise: you are not alone, you are seen, you matter.

Upskill Life Class

Up-Skill Classes are more than just lessons; they're seeds of self-sufficiency sown in fertile ground. They nurture dignity, foster hope, and empower families to break the cycle of food insecurity. By supporting Food Bank Malaysia's Up-Skill Classes, you're not just providing a meal, you're cultivating a future where families thrive, waste shrinks, and health blossoms on resilient roots.

Bakau Hijau Class

In the vibrant classrooms of Food Bank Malaysia's Bakau Hijau program, children aged 7-12 years old engaging lessons on nutrition, sustainable food practices, and even food waste reduction. Through interactive games, colorful infographics, and hands-on activities, they learn the magic of turning leftovers into culinary masterpieces, the responsibility of choosing food wisely, and the power of reducing our environmental footprint.

Special Projects

Food Bank Malaysia special programs, like Back-to-School and Ramadan Break Fast, extend a helping hand during critical periods, ensuring no child's backpack goes empty during crucial exam times, and no family skips a joyful iftar meal. But the impact goes beyond immediate relief.
